THE LOCKDOWN

ANIMATION

University Project

Year: 2021

This project is inspired on the multiple lockdowns happened in 2020-2021 in the UK. I think the reasons behind the rising cases, was because of a lot of people not seen wearing a mask on the street, or people not following the covid 19 measure properly.

The 3 focus that I would like my audience to take a deep thought:

1. Face Covering used

2. Hand Sanitising

3. Social Distancing

PLOT | STORYBOARD

The story starts off with the background of a pandemic lockdown and the protagonist, Tom, got a party invitation from his friend, Jerry. It ended with all the people in the party got infected as they were not aware of social distancing and personal hygiene.

The key of this animation is to draw a public awareness towards personal hygiene in pandemic. It is designed to be a 8-bit game simulation that the avatar in the game has to save people around him from getting Covid-19. By doing so, the player has to choose the right options to progress the plot. Theoretically, the player could have saved everyone, however, it is plotted to be a doomed ending, in order to warn/ educate the audience.

AUDIO | VOICE OVER

I specially invited my British friend to do the voice-over as the animation is supposed to be targeting British locals. Making the whole experience more authentic.
